Indian team for Asian Grand Prix-Dutee Chand ,Tintu Luka included
|A 12-member Indian team will compete in the first leg of the Asian Grand Prix at Jiaxing and Jinhua, China, on April 24 and 27 respectively.
Asian Games 400m bronze medallist M.R. Poovamma and the National record holder in 400m Mohammed Anas will join the rest of the squad for the third leg in Chinese Taipei on April 30. Both did not get Chinese visa.
The AFI, in a release here on Thursday, clarified that high jumper Tejaswin Shankar, 17, sustained a back injury and dropped out of the squad.
The team: Men: Vidyasagar Siddarajanayaka (100m), Jinson Johnson (400m), Rakesh Babu (triple jump), Om Prakash Singh (shot put), Neeraj Chopra and Ravinder Singh (javelin).
Women: Dutee Chand and Reena George (100m), Tintu Luka (800m), Neena Varakil (long jump), Jinu Maria (high jump), Manpreet Kaur (shot put). Coaches: Garry James Calvert, Bibu Mathew, PT Usha, Radha Krishnan Nair.
