SL team leave for Thai Open

Sri Lanka Team consisting of seven athletes left the country to participate in the Thailand Open Athletics Championship 2017. This is the final opportunity for Sri Lankan athletes to qualify for the forthcoming Asian Championship.

Javelin thrower Sampath Ranasinghe who was originally scheduled to compete at the championship decided to opt out and go for training in Finland instead. The Championship will start on 12 June and go on till the 15^th. Decathlon Athlete Ajith Karunathilaka, Hammer thrower Ayesha Madhuwanthi and Vaulting queen from Jaffna Anitha Jagatheshwaran will make their international debuts at this championship.
