Subashini returns after two years
|Quarter miler, Chandrika Subashini Rasnayake will return after a lapse of two years of injury ridden time eyeing to regain her 400m spot in the national circuit during the senior national trials which will held on 27-28 Mary at Sugathadasa stadium . Subashini who wasn’t seen in action since 2016 South Asian Games here she won the silver medal will be eyeing to make the team for the Asian Games.
Chandrika finished a disappointing fourth position at the last Asian Games 400m, held in Incheon where her podium finish was stolen from Bahrain’s imported athlete Oluwakemi Adekoya from Nigeria.Having personal best of 52 .36 seconds, Rasnayake is the second most successful SL 400m runner only behind Damayanthi Darsha.
Upamali Ratnakumari is the current seasoned 400m runner glittered the track in the absence of Chandrika Rasnayake and Ratnakumari will not give up her pride easily in her pet event and the women’s 400m battle will be interesting to watch during the meet.
