Four Athletes took wings to Philippines
Quarter milers Dilip Ruwan , Ajith Premakumara, Long Jumper Amila Jayasiri and Middle distance runner Hemantha Kumara took wings to Philippine for the Philippine open Athletics Championship. Major Ranjith Hennayaka is the coach wheel Rohana Jayalal has been appointed as the team manager.
Both Dilip Ruwan and Ajith Premakumara clocked sub 47 seconds in 400m earlier this year with Dilip Ruwan clocking personal best 46.39 seconds while Ajith clocked 46.69 seconds in the event.
Long jumper Amila Jayasiri is struggling to match his old glory as he leapt 7.93m and 7.63 m in two trials and will be eyeing to repeat his 8.15m leap which he jumped in 2016.
Following quit years, Hemantha returned with eye catching run in the 1500m to clock 3:48.75 seconds in the heats of the first trials where he has been chance to compete internationally to perform further well .
The Championships will take place end of this week (31st May to 4th June) in Ilagan City, Isabela.
