Vinoj doubtful for Asian Games after diagnosed with Dengue
Sprinter Vinoj Suranjaya de Silva had unfortunately diagnose with Dengue and had received doctor’s advice for three months of rest before training .At the moment he is getting treatment in Balapitiya hospital .
De Silva who clocked 10.27 seconds in 100m this year also shattered 20 year old 200m National record of Sugath Thilakarathne clocking 20.68 seconds at the National trials.
De Silva’s pace further fired up SL 4x100m relay team who finished 4th in both of the previous Asian Championship and 6th in the commonwealth Games . addition of Yupun Priyadarshana who clocked 10.31 seconds this year gave real hope for a Asian Games medal but it seems all the dreams had shattered apart with unfortunate incident.
As for De Silva he will unlikely to be fit for Asian Games which is just two months away .
