Dilshi , Parami get SL going with high hopes
Asian Junior Gold medalist steeple chase runner Parami Wasanthi Marisstella and Asian Junior triple medalist , Dilshi Kumarasinghe will start campaign for Sri Lanka in the IAAF World junior athletics championship in Finland today as duo will compete in the 3000m Steeple chase and 800m heats on Tuesday (10th)
Team who reached Finland after tiring journey participated in their last training session to fine tune on Monday .
Parami the world number one in the under 18 2000m steeple chase runner will compete with senior athletes (U-20) in the 3000m steeple chase where the road is not that easy for the youngster . Nevertheless the youngster trained under Janitha Jayasinghe , hailing from Kuliyapitiya CC has been gradually improved her time , clocking personal best trice so far in this year alone and it will not be surprise if she could dip below 10 minutes mark in the event .

Meanwhile , the pride of A.Rathnayaka CC Walala Dilshi Kumarasinghe who seal triple medals in Asian Juniors winning a silver and two bronze medal will compete in her pet event (800m) heat at 1pm on Tuesday (11th)
Dilshi’s 800M time of 2:04.53 seconds which she clocked at the Asian Junior championship is a new SL junior record which she renewed for the fourth time . Dilshi who has six international medals this year so far had given up 400m in the world junior focusing on 800m where she hope for a best performance .
