Shelinda clocks PB 24.07 and finished in overall 9th position
Sprinter Shelinda Jansen from Gateway International School , Rajagiriya dazzle in Argentina as she won the heat two of the second stage of 200m with massive personal best of 24.07 seconds (+1.9) at the Youth Olympic Games yesterday . She finished overall 9th position with accumulation timing of 49.07 (25.00+24.07) seconds.
Earlier in stage one Jansen came out first from the bend but could not continue his impressive run in to the final stretch which she could do in the stage two lower her personal best by 0.91 seconds . Her performance also the 3rd best performance in Sri Lankan junior all time athletics history even though she is just 17 with two more years to compete in the junior (U-20) age .

All four Sri Lankan track and field athletes competed the Youth Olympic Games with Personal bests where Parami Wasanthi won bronze medal in 2000m Steeple Chase.
