Arokia Rajiv turns table over Muhammad Anas in 400M

Quatermiler Arokia Rajiv assured himself of a spot on the Indian team that will travel to the Asian Championships, by winning the men’s 400m race clocking 45.73 seconds which met the AFI’s qualification standards. Rajiv produced upset by beating the national record holder Muhammad Anas as he clocked 0.12 seconds  under the AFI qualification standard of 45.85.

Anas, who was not looking at his best finished just outside the qualification guideline with a time of 45.89. While Anas claimed the silver medal, fellow Kerala athlete Kunhu Muhammad clocked 46.47 to claim the third step on the podium. The fourth place finisher K.S.Jeewan too clocked 46.48 seconds as India has four quatermilers who runs under 46.5 seconds including two sub 46 seconds runners to defend their 4x400M title in the Asian Championship .
