Nationals – Head to Head – Women’s Triple Jump

Vidusha Lakshani , rose to the fame in April as she brought back a moment of joy for a grieving Nation when she won Sri Lanka’s only medal at the Asian Championship competing with the agony of her home town been bombed by terrorists . Wearing black arm band in his right shoulder the triple jumper leaped seasonal best 13.53m in April and is the firm favorite to seal another National title and get in to her second South Asian Games team .

Her closest competitor will be one of her long time training mate Hashini Balasooriya . Both Vidusha and Hashini trained under Philip Ranjith earlier during their junior careers and now trains under Cuban coach Luis Miranda.
As for training ,Vidusha stay ahead with Hashini struggling to manage training and University life but Hashini wasn’t at the her best peak when she beat Vidusha last year during National Sports festival and she will be eyeing to repeat that performance at the Nationals this year.
