Dopers denies legitimate athletes’ chance to shine – Emma Coburn
|Defending 3000m Steeple Chase World champion from USA Emma Coburn shares her thoughts with us about doping and cheaters where she said the biggest heartbreak is that they denies the chance to shine for legitimate winners . The 28 year old , who became first US woman to win a World championship or Olympic Gold medal in 300m steeple chase ,said she is completely clean and is get very exited every time she hear about an athlete getting caught for doping which means there are less cheaters on the starting line up for races.
“Athletes get caught all the time cheating. I know I’m completely clean and training hard the right ways” said Emma.
“So When I hear about athletes getting caught , I get excited because there’s less athletes lining up for races who are cheating but it definitely in a championship race or any race I just try to focus on myself and finishing high up as I can The worst part of it is that sometimes there’s eight years to solve a doping ban. For an example 2011 800 women are getting upgrade Maggie Vessey and Alysia Montano now upgraded to bronze and silver. So that’s when the biggest heartbreak when someone didn’t get to have that moment to be on the podium”
Athletes get caught all the time and I'm exited everytime as then I know there will be less athletes (who are doing) on the lineup – Defendng World Champion of 3000m Steeple Chase – Emma Coburn (USA) IAAF Doha 2019 #Doha2019 #WorldChampionship #USA #Trackandfield #CeylonAthletics Ceylon Athletics
