Coleman’s provisional ban :- British athletes have their say
|100M World Champion , Christian Coleman who’s now been banned provisionally by the Athletics Integrity Unit posted a lengthy explanation about missing test where he stated that he was out shopping by the time agents arrived and accused Anti doping agents of setting him up.
“Don’t tell me I ‘missed’ a test if you sneak up on my door (parked outside the gate and walked through…there’s no record of anyone coming to my place) without my knowledge. Knocked while I was Christmas shopping 5 mins away at the mall (I have receipts and bank statements) and didn’t even bother to call me or attempt to reach me. I was more than ready and available for testing and if I had received a phone call I could’ve taken the drug test and carried on with my night.”
But British athletes took twitter to share their concerns about it.
Coleman’s whereabouts violation
– June 6, 2018
– January 16, 2019
– April 26, 2019
– December 9, 2019Whereabouts can feel invasive & be stressful – particularly with travel.
But it is ONE HOUR A DAY, not all day every day. An inconvenience that is worth it to protect clean sport. Going shopping during your slot when you are on 2 missed test is taking a huge risk with your career— Hannah England (@hannengland) June 17, 2020
As athletes we have few genuine responsibilities. The one biggie we do have is to give the drug testers one hour a day when we’re going to be at an address, & then to be there for that hour.
It’s annoying but not difficult. One hour. Choose 6-7am and make life easy for yourself.

My alarm goes off at 9.30pm every single evening! Those close to me have heard this many times, “Oh Adams”.
It reminds me of my obligation to have updated whereabouts & update them if I’m not home.
8+ yrs being on whereabouts I have NEVER missed a test. It’s not hard! 🤷

ALSO have a consistent time when you’re going to be home. For a while mine was 6am!
Was I always going to be home at 6am, YES.
Did I want to wake up at 6am NO. Did it mess my training day up if I had a test at 6am, YES!
But this is necessary to ensure clean sport!— Holly Bradshaw (@HollyBradshawPV) June 17, 2020
Even when I was in hospital for 3 days, having my baby, my first thought was I better update my whereabouts. It’s just what has to be done to enusre credibility within our sport. #Cleansport https://t.co/Zy8YgKtUQW
