Salwa’s Charges dimissed by World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal
|The World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal has dismissed the charges brought by the AIU against Salwa Eid Naser (BRN) for alleged Whereabouts failures.
The AIU had charged the athlete with four alleged Whereabouts failures that included a Filing Failure (16 March 2019 effective 01 January 2019) and three Missed Tests (12 March 2019, 12 April 2019 and 24 January 2020) occurring in the period 01 January 2019 to 24 January 2020.
In making its decision, the Tribunal did not confirm the alleged Missed Test against the athlete from April 2019. Therefore the other three confirmed Whereabouts failures did not occur within the 12-month period required to prove an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2.4 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.
The AIU has the right to appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within 30 days and will consider the reasons for decision before determining whether to appeal.
