Kalinga clocked sub 46, while Tharushi DNS in Osaka Grand Prix (Video)
|Kalinga Kumarage, who took part in the 400m Men’s Finals, clocked 45.92 seconds to win, while the hosts’ ITO Rikuya and MORI Masato finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, clocking 46.09 seconds and 46.61 seconds at the 11th Kinami Michitaka Memorial Athletics Meet, which is a WA Continental Tour’s Bronze competition.

Nadeesha Ramanayaka, who competed in the UAE Grand Prix last weekend, competed in her pet event 400m and placed 4th, clocking 54.02 seconds, while Australian Laura McShane clocked only 53.56 seconds to win the event. Japan’s favorites, Haruna Kuboyama and Yuna Iwata, clocked 53.65 seconds and 53.73 seconds, respectively, to finish 2nd and 3rd.

It was a disappointment for all who waiting for Tharushi Karunaratne’s event, as she did not participate, citing illness. She also failed to finish the race at the UAE Grand Prix after completing the 600m mark.
Team Sri Lanka will be taking part next in the Asian Relay Championships on the 20th and 21st of this month in Thailand.
